Historic Muffler Reproduction Project

In December 2002 the last of the Fort MacArthur Museum received a very special gift. Van Hicks and his crew from VANCO HEAVY LIFT recently fabricated and installed two reproduction mufflers outside the power room. The years have been hard on the original mufflers which were installed 85 years ago and sit outside the building exposed to the effects of coastal weather.

Here are some images documenting the large scale of this project. Fort MacArthur Museum sincerely thanks Van and his talented workers for once again helping to improve the visual appeal of the museum for our visitors.

VANCO is a long-time museum benefactor and professional full service group who will handle your consolidations or assembly of large volumes of cargo throughout Southern California. Don't forget to visit their website at www.vanco.net.
